  • Alumni Spotlight: Haley Moss
Even after their time with the Miami Law’s Professional Responsibility and Ethics Program, PREP alumni remain tied to it. As proud members of a diverse alumni group, we celebrate their professional achievements, personal growth, and contribution to the PREP legacy!

Meet Haley Moss, J.D. Class of 2018. Haley currently lives in Coral Gables, FL, where she works as an Associate Attorney at Zumpano Patricios.

Please share your best PREP memory and share any way in which you think your PREP experience has benefited you in your career.

“I was part of PREP for two years as an intern and fellow! My favorite PREP memory was presenting at the Florida Bar Annual Convention over the summer, actually. One of the other Fellows and I did it together to a large crowd and loved every minute of it. We also stayed for the networking and got to spend time with Miami Law alums, as well as lawyers and judges from all over the state. In my career, PREP gave me confidence as a researcher and legal writer, and made me a better public speaker. I do public speaking outside of the practice of law, and PREP made me feel like I am an “expert” in the things that interest me outside telling my story.”

Where have you been working since you graduated and where are you now?

“I’ve been working at Zumpano Patricios, right here in Coral Gables! I worked here during my 2L summer, and am here full-time nowadays. I consider that my “real job” – I also have a “fun job” in autism advocacy. Ever since I was 13, I’ve been heavily involved in the autism community. I’m the author of two books.  Even when I was in law school, I was writing for HuffPost in my spare time. So, I also work as a keynote speaker, artist, and an author.  It’s a lot of fun and is a nice counterbalance to law practice.”

What advice would you offer to current law students or recent graduates?

“Don’t lose sight of what you’re passionate about. Remember why you came to law school in the first place. Keep your interests and hobbies alive – it’s really easy to get swallowed up by law school and practice, but, there is still life on the outside. I continued to draw and paint through law school and in some of my free time and honestly it feels awesome. And by remembering why you went to law school, it helps to power through the classes you might be less excited about or 1L year, or even Bar prep – there a purpose and a method to the madness!”
